Scott Johnson, a New York City comedian and University of Kansas alumnus, returns to his hometown Lawrence, Kansas, for a special one night only performance at the historic Liberty Hall. Liberty Hall has hosted many legends over the years such as Iggy Pop and Morrissey and Johnson will soon join those ranks. Johnson headlines his own hilarious comedy special, appropriately entitled, The Prodigal Son Returns. The show is comprised of stand-up, sketch, and improvisation. Johnson will be joined onstage by fellow New York City comedian and friend, Mark Stetson.

The Prodigal Son Returns is written by both Scott Johnson and Mark Stetson and will take the audience through a hilarious journey through sometimes self-deprecating yet uncannily relatable humor on exactly what it means to be "a man" in this day and age. Liberty Hall's website states, "there will be love, laughter, and a huge brawl at strategic points throughout the show."

After graduating from The University of Kansas, Johnson burst onto the New York City comedy scene after performing with the highly regarded comedic improvisation team, Maybe Sherman. Soon after, he devoted his time to writing and performing his own stand-up material and has garnered much attention as an up and comer to keep an eye on after holding his own performing in comedy sets alongside famed comedians such as Todd Barry, Judah Friedlander, and Jim Gaffigan. Johnson has performed comedy in Chicago and New York City at noteworthy comedy venues like Improv Olympic, The Upright Citizens' Brigade, The People's Improv Theater, and Eastville Comedy Club

The Prodigal Son Returns is on Friday, December 14th, 10:30PM  at Liberty Hall, 644 Massachusetts Street, Lawrence, KS 66044. Tickets range from $10.50 to $25.50 and while can be purchased online at the box office or on Ticketmaster.com. (http://www.ticketmaster.com/Scott-Johnson-tickets/artist/1788920)
